Prop 8: The Fight Goes On!

Yesterday, the California Supreme Court upheld Prop 8. Boo! There were protests all across the state, and of course the one in West Hollywood was massive.

Many thanks to our fabulous, famous fruit-flies Kathy Griffin, Deborah Gibson, Kelly Osbourne and especially Drew Barrymore, who spoke at the WeHo rally.  And, by the way, WTF stands for "When They Fight" in this instance.

On a happier note, the new season of Kathy's My Life On The D-List premieres Monday night. Kathy will be cavorting in Las Vegas with Bette Midler, which, incidentally, I will be doing the night before! It's a double-header for me, as I will be catching Fleetwood Mac's Unleashed: The Hits Tour at MGM Grand Saturday night, followed by Bette's The Showgirl Must Go On at Caesar's Palace Sunday night. Four-day weekend, here I come! Don't be jealous! (Or do, I don't mind!)

Kylie talks up US Tour

I'm so stoked that Kylie Minogue is FINALLY coming to the US for a few concerts this fall! Thanks to Muzophile for the heads up on that! Hey, let me know if you're going to any of the shows, especially the LA or SF shows. I love to meet & chat with other fans.

Kylie stopped by the Today Show Thursday to talk about her long-awaited US Tour. Kathie Lee usually doesn't bug me this much, but... UGH! Try to ignore her and check out Kylie!

Kylie: USA Tour 2009!!

I haven't been this excited about something in a long time! Our little "Min," aka Kylie Minogue, is FINALLY touring the States this fall. 21 years in the music biz, and this is her first foray into concerts here! I can't wait! I already have my tickets for opening night in Oakland (Sept. 30) as well as the Hollywood Bowl (Oct. 4).

This one is not to be missed, folks!! I wonder if the show will be similar to last year's "X 2008" tour or completely different. Any thoughts?

Dolly on The Today Show

OK, no more slacking on the blogs for me.  Just gonna get it out there for your enjoyment!

Dolly Parton wrote all the music for the new Broadway show 9 to 5.  I caught it twice at the Ahmanson Theatre in LA last October and it was phenomenal!  I hope I can make it to NY to see it on Broadway.  (I've never been to NY, so I've never seen anything on Broadway!)

Dolly sat down for a chat with Matt Lauer yesterday morning on The Today Show.  She's as cute as always.  Check it out!

Timberlake on Jimmy Fallon

Anyone who knows me knows that my DVR is my best friend, or at least ONE OF my best friends! I just watched the debut of Late Night With Jimmy Fallon and Justin Timberlake had me in stitches. SNL's "Barry Gibb Talk Show" with Jimmy and JT was crazy funny, and of course they decided to relive some of the hilarity on Jimmy's show. Justin's John Mayer and Michael McDonald impressions are not to be missed! Check it out here:

And Justin, if you're reading this, thanks for turning Madonna out on Hard Candy. 4 Minutes and Dance 2Night (my personal fave) are the highlights of her album. Ya ain't too hard to look at either!

Idol Thoughts (Go Jesse Go!)

Okay, so Fox is using its juggernaut, American Idol, for all it's worth, stretching out the voting and the road to Top 12 as much as possible. This year, we got three weeks of Top 36 performances, topped off by tonight's wild card showdown featuring second chances for 8 hopefuls.

Idol likes to keep things equal, usually with 6 guys and 6 girls in the Top 12. So far, we have 6 guys and 3 girls. The wild card show features 4 guys and 4 girls. (Hmm... wonder how that happened!) In order for us to have an "equal" Top 12, the judges would need to select 3 girls and no guys.

My choices for the wild cards would be Jasmine Murray, Megan Joy Corkrey and, my personal fave, Jesse Langseth. Sure, she's the sister of singer Jonny Lang, so people think she may have gotten a little extra consideration. If that were the case, wouldn't David Osmond still be on the show? Whatever the case, Jesse's got an awesome, very distinctive voice, and "Bette Davis Eyes" was perfect for her! It's the only Top 36 performance I've bought on iTunes (so far).

One thing that's always bugged me is that Fox makes such a big deal out of the Top 12, but it's only the Top 10 that go on tour when the show is over. Can anyone make sense of that?

Anyway, tune in tonight to see how they round out the Top 12. And go here for a complete breakdown of last night's show!
